Devin Short Reaches 50 Caps

On Friday, June 3rd Devin Short became the twenty-first player in Major League Rugby to take the pitch for 50 matches. Despite beginning to play rugby his senior year of high school, Devin Short was selected for the High School All Americans. He then went through the Next Olympic Hopeful and secured a residency spot. Short played with the USA Falcons 7s (Eagles Developmental Team) at Punta Del Este and Vina Del Mar 7s tournaments.

While in Chula Vista he caught the eye of San Diego Legion and was signed by the side in the inaugural MLR season in 2018. During his next two seasons with the Legion he played in 12 matches in 2019 and in 3 matches as a reserve in 2020. NOLA Gold obtained Short from the Legion in a trade for the 2021 season. Now on his second season with NOLA, the 23-year-old flanker has tallied five career tries in MLR to date.
