Six-Part Docuseries about Major League Rugby’s AG Rugby Set to Premiere

“Inside the Scrum” will Highlight the Gilgronis’ 2021 Season on FS2

AUSTIN (December 21, 2021) – Major League Rugby (MLR) has been developing a foothold on the North American sports scene for nearly five years and in 2021 the AG Rugby team allowed unfettered access to “Inside the Scrum” as the team chased the elusive MLR Championship Shield. Beginning on Sunday, Dec. 26, a six-part docuseries will launch on FS2 that chronicles the 2021 season of AG Rugby. “Inside the Scrum” will offer viewers and fans all-access including behind the scenes meetings and strategy sessions on and off the pitch. Player and coaches’ interactions were chronicled throughout the season with each half-hour episode providing a never before seen glimpse into AG Rugbys’ season and MLR.

“Great television demands larger than life characters, and we’ve got them,” said AG Rugby’s GM, Mike Sheehan. “With ‘Inside the Scrum,’ all-access means just that, and no topic is off-limits. Our cameras were there for the team meetings, training sessions, film studies and more. We were in the locker room pregame, halftime and post-game. We can’t wait for the audience to see what we captured.”

The docuseries centers around the intense sport of rugby, featuring Head Coach Sam Harris, a proud Aussie who took over the team that had won just a single game in two years, as well as Jamie Mackintosh and Conner Mooneyham, two of the most important and talented players on Austin’s team.

“Rugby and particularly Major League Rugby is a sport built on community, passion and athleticism,” said MLR Commissioner George Killebrew. “We are thrilled the AG Rugby team allowed a crew to film them last season and we see this as a great opportunity to introduce our sport and personalities to an even broader fan base.
