John Ryberg Reaches 50 Caps

On Saturday, May 21st John Ryberg became the sixteenth player in Major League Rugby to take the pitch for 50 matches.

It wasn’t until Ryberg’s final year at the University of Iowa that he began playing rugby. After graduating with a bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, he moved to Denver and joined the Glendale Raptors. He played for the side in the Pacific Rugby Premiership and their first three seasons in MLR.

Major League Rugby is honoring the first 50 players to reach 50 caps, and their role in building the legacy of MLR. The latest of the first fifteen players to reach 50 caps for MLR includes Luke White of the LA Giltinis, Ben Mitchell of San Diego Legion and JP Smith of the Seattle Seawolves.
