Lance Williams Reaches 50 Caps

On Saturday, April 23rd Lance Williams became the ninth  player in Major League Rugby to take the pitch for 50 matches. Williams was born in Hawaii but raised in Western Samoa where he began playing Rugby. At age 12, his family moved back to Hawaii where he lettered in multiple high school sports.

He then began playing club Rugby for the West Valley Lions and eventually Utah Selects 7s before joining the Warriors in MLR's first season in 2018.

Williams is now a fifth-year flanker for the Utah Warriors with nine career tries to date. In 2019 he was selected for the Second Team All-MLR. Major League Rugby is honoring the first 50 players to reach 50 caps, and their role in building the legacy of MLR. The latest of the first eight players to reach 50 caps for MLR includes Holden Yungert of the New England Free Jacks, Nick Boyer of the Houston SaberCats and Moni Tongauiha and JP du Plessis of NOLA Gold.
