LooseHeadz Announced As The Mental Fitness Partner For MLR
Mental health charity, the LooseHeadz Foundation, has been announced as the official mental fitness partner of the MLR for the 2022/23 season.
After the success of last season’s Mental Fitness Month in the US, LooseHeadz and MLR are delighted to have agreed to work in partnership throughout the 2022/23 season to support players’ and fans’ mental wellbeing.
The LooseHeadz mission is to place a mental health lead (a ‘LooseHead’) into every rugby club around the world. Given the growth of the game seen in the USA over the last few years and the upcoming World Cups in 2031 & 2033, the timing couldn’t be better.
LooseHeadz has already placed a lead into each club in the MLR and hopes to expand this partnership by providing more tools for those players while also using the exposure of the competition to help reach players at the grassroots level.
Rob Shotton, Co-Founder of LooseHeadz, said, “We’re absolutely delighted to be working with MLR for the upcoming season. We saw a huge wave of support during Mental Fitness Month earlier this year, which resulted in a number of new clubs signing up for the Partnership Programme. We hope that with the continued support of the MLR, we can reach more players in the USA as the game continues to go from strength to strength and provide them with the tools to look after their mental wellbeing.”
George Killebrew, MLR Commissioner, said, “We have been working with Looseheadz in an unofficial capacity for some time and are beyond impressed with Rob and his team’s dedication and vision for this important cause. Their experience working with rugby players all over the world makes them the perfect partner for us as we continue to advocate for mental fitness.”
