Those are the words of Seattle Seawolves star center Dan Kriel - a player known for his fearless, hard-hitting style on the field. To most fans, Kriel is all grit and determination. But off the field lies a story that redefines strength in a whole new way.
In an exclusive documentary directed and produced by former MLR and USA Eagle player Will Hooley, we step beyond the tackles and try lines to uncover the powerful journey of Dan and his wife, Candice Kriel, and the incredible charity born from their toughest battle - Happy Bundles.
In 2020, Candice was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer - a moment that would change their lives forever. But rather than letting the diagnosis define them, the Kriels turned pain into purpose. Together, they founded Happy Bundles - a charity dedicated to bringing smiles and hope to children fighting cancer through simple, heartfelt gift packages.
What began as an act of kindness has now become a global movement. With over $180,000 raised at their first annual Gala in September, Dan and Candice continue to push toward their goal: making sure no child battling cancer misses out on happiness.
This is a story about love, resilience, and the belief that even in the darkest moments, joy can shine through.
