Saia 'Uhila Reaches 50 Caps

On Saturday, May 7th Saia 'Uhila became the twelfth player in Major League Rugby to take the pitch for 50 matches. 'Uhila, a fifth-year lock for the Utah Warriors, grew up playing rugby in Tonga. After moving to the United States he captained both the Oceanside Chiefs and the East Palo Alto Bulldogs. He also played for the 2015 Northern California Pelicans Select team.

‘Uhila spent two seasons with the Utah Brothers in the Rugby Utah Men’s Premier Division and was then selected for both the Utah Selects and the Utah Islanders. A part of the Utah Warriors since Major League Rugby's inaugural season, 'Uhila has five career tries to date.

Major League Rugby is honoring the first 50 players to reach 50 caps, and their role in building the legacy of MLR. The latest of the first eleven players to reach 50 caps for MLR includes Moni Tongauiha and JP du Plessis of NOLA Gold and Lance Williams and Mika Kruse of the Utah Warriors and Riekert Hattingh of the Seattle Seawolves.
