About the club
San Diego Legion and Rugby Football Club Los Angeles (RFCLA) united on July 30, 2025, to create The California Legion, a newly formed professional rugby entity set to compete in the 2026 Major League Rugby (MLR) season.
The California Legion maintains a strong presence in Southern California, featuring matches in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Orange County, solidifying the new club’s vision to become a true representative of professional rugby in California.
