Scott Green Officiates his 50th MLR Match

On Saturday, May 14th Scott Green officiated his 50th Major League Rugby match. Green grew up playing rugby in New Zealand before later making the move to the states. As a club player in the US he played No 8 for the Austin Huns and Austins Blacks, winning the 2008 Club D1 Mens Championship with the Austin Blacks. After a 20 year amateur rugby career, Green joined the Texas Rugby Referee Association where he then spent four years as its Chairman and achieved USA Rugby National Panel recognition in 2013. He has been a leader in North American referee development, he led the Texas Rugby Referee Association for many years and is currently a High Performance Referee coach for USA Rugby. He was also an Assistant Referee at USA vs CAN in 2016, USA v URU and USA v BR in 2017 and USA v NZ in the Inaugural 1874 Cup in 2021. Green joined the MLR refereeing ranks in 2018 and was selected to referee the 2018 MLR Final, and the 2019 Semi Final and Final.
